It is of no surprise that Catherine Middleton, Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge, has inspired the wedding fashion industry with both her wedding gowns. Princess Cathrine began her day in a a nip-waisted, long-sleeved dress with sheer, cream-lace arms and a V-neckline over a form-fitting bodice. Many have commented on its beautiful elegance and resemblance to Grace Kelly’s wedding gown. This beautiful piece was designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. To complete her look Catherine wore a gorgeous stunning scalloped lace edged veil held with a Cartier Halo tiara. Her something borrowed from Queen Elizabeth.

The dress’s skirt was full with a long train, with a ruffled bustle at the train’s top—it is made of ivory and white satin silk gazar. The beautiful lace pattern on the bride’s ensemble is known as Irish Carrickmacross, an ornate appliqué form of hand-made lace that was made for her using a combination of French Chantilly lace and English Cluny lace. Carrickmacross is an Irish embroidery tradition that dates to 1820.

For the reception princess Kathrine changed into a white satin strapless evening gown with a circle skirt and rhine stone diamond detailing around the waist. This was also a Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen creation.
